Interview from Stella magazine

Who is your favourite designer?

I never pay attention to labels when I buy clothes, if it looks good I don’t care who the ‘designer’ is. I wouldn’t even know what label most of my clothes are.

What’s the one item of clothing you can’t live without?

90% of the time I wear jeans so I would have to say my jeans.

Style guide: Sneakers or dress shoes?

Sneakers

What was your biggest fashion disaster?

I dyed my hair blonde in 2000 when I was 15, I have no photos and I can’t even remember what I looked like but I know I would never even think of doing that again, just not me, black’s more my colour.

What are your favourite ‘man’ products?

I don’t really have ‘man’ products; I tend to use more of the girl products like eyeliner and nailpolish.

What shoe do you put on first – left or right?

I think it’s the right.

What is your favourite movie of all time?

I hate picking favourites, it’s so hard but I’d probably have to say, Old boy, by Park Chan Wook.

What’s on the agenda for you this year?

Hopefully some more work will come my way but in the meantime I’m spending a lot of time composing music.

Where can Kiwi Girls find you?

I pop up as a regular guest on neighbours a lot, that’s probably the best bet for New Zealanders.

When did your first break come? And what was it?

Short Cuts in 2001, a kids show about a media class and films they made throughout the school year.

How did you get this role? Were you up against heaps of other guys?

It took 6 auditions to get this role, in the beginning there were hundreds of people but it got down to a battle between me and another guy I still have never met.

What is your advice for budding young actors?

Don’t pass up any opportunity and make the most of every chance you get, because you may be waiting a while for another.

Single or not?

Yep, single for now….
